bestgirlwins, the notorious line and moniker representing artist Bree Nichols, latest collection, Light as a Feather, examines the sacrosanct in every day objects and the natural world. Inspired by the dark arts, Nichols culls symbols and talismans from the occult.  "I was, as I always am, inspired by nature. But more importantly, specific to this collection, I thought a lot about animism and our constant need to pervert nature as a way of controlling or understanding its power." Light as a Feather mines historical rituals of protection and magic and reimagines their influence.

Nichols, who studied art and industrial design, describes herself as "a disciple of the undisciplined."  Yet her dedication and fierce intelligence belies the joke.  But it does capture the cross -pollination between mediums and the promiscuous talent of her restless methods.

Kimberly Baker Jewelry

A delightful combination of Victorian-inspired elegance and Gothic imagery, Kimberly Baker's jewelry designs harken eras past.

H
er pieces have elegance, wit, and a touch of the unexpected, so it was not a surprise to learn that a 18th century collection of illustrations of squid, algae and a host of other creatures led to some of the most exquisite pieces in her line. "I am continually inspired by Albertus Seba's "Cabinet of Natural Curosities," said Baker. Compiled in 1734 - 1765, this book is one of the most impressive natural history compendiums ever assembled, and a source of endless inspiration for Baker.

"My laser cut earrings evolved from the textures and patterns in illustrations of coral and algae. The Ariel necklace and ring sprung from a similar place."

Her new Stingray and Ribbon cuff designs exemplify Kimberly's ability to turn the unusual, into a breathtaking piece of jewelry. "I found this amazing piece of multi-dimensional vintage ribbon which reminded me of a stegosaurus, so I cast it in silver." The resulting piece had that signature Kimberly Baker vibe, the perfect combination of tough and tender

JILL LINDSEY
makes dresses.

It started with girlhood sketches and taking refuge amid a closetful of clothes. That was Kansas.

New York included work at Temperley London and talent refinement from technical masters and creative luminaries.

Seattle was a degree in Fashion Design and is, for now, home sweet home.

Jill Lindsey's designs start with a detail and finale with functionality, which she does for you. Drawing inspiration from visual art, fashion and film, Jill's technique and her final product are reference inspiration from vintage couture to modernism.

Her latest collection is inspired by Nautical Royalty.  The rich fabrics have beautiful texture that incorporates white satin twill and gold brocade.  The nautical influence is represented in the use of exaggerated sailor collars and flirty skirts.  This collection has a sexy edge, exposing her signature feminine details on the back of the dress using ruffles and bows.  Jill Lindsey has introduced accessories with this collection, Fabric Rosette Cuffs and Rosette Tree Necklaces.

Jill would like you to enjoy wearing her dresses.
